Join Queer & Sober SLC for a gardening 101 workshop with the team at Little Gay Garden!
This event will begin with a Gardening 101 discussion focused on garden planning, soil health, planting, fertilizing and everything else you need to know to have a successful summer garden in Utah, this discussion will be followed with a Q&A so bring your questions! Following our discussion we will have volunteer opportunities for those able to stay and participate, along with refreshments. Please use the form below to RSVP so we have a general headcount - RSVP not required for attendance.
Plan to bring:
a chair
a water bottle - we will have drinking water at the farm, but please bring a bottle
sun protection - hat, sleeves, sunscreen
a note pad and pen/pencil
gloves if you plan to stay and volunteer
Getting to the Little Gay Garden Farm
We are located behind Backman Elementary School in Salt Lake City, and there is no access from a main road. The easiest way to find us is to put 566 N 1500 W, SLC 84116 into google maps, this will navigate you to a small street alongside Backman, it will also get you to the road that leads behind the school. At this point you should see a sign for Little Gay Garden, you are welcome to park on the street, or in teacher parking behind the school. You will then walk up a short road to the entrance of Little Gay Garden.
